Launcher maker MaiaSpace signs rideshare contract with RIDE!
(SpaceEnergy) French launcher developer MaiaSpace has signed a commercial contract with launch-services company RIDE! to carry compatible auxiliary payloads alongside future Maia missions.
The agreement will allow RIDE! customers to fly secondary payloads on MaiaSpace launches when technical and primary-mission requirements permit. It is MaiaSpace’s fifth commercial contract secured in the past 15 months ahead of the Maia launcher’s inaugural orbital flight.
Paris-based RIDE! provides mission management and rideshare services for satellite operators and manufacturers, working with more than 35 launch providers. MaiaSpace said the agreement broadens its customer base beyond satellite operators and constellation manufacturers.
Maia is being developed as a reusable European small launcher powered by liquid oxygen and liquid biomethane. Depending on configuration, orbital inclination and use of its Colibri kick stage, MaiaSpace lists payload capacity of up to 4,000kg to Low Earth orbit.
