Redwire wins Axiom Station second-module solar-array contract

(SpaceEnergy) Redwire has won a follow-on contract from Axiom Space to supply two Roll-Out Solar Array wings for the second module of the planned Axiom Station commercial space station.

The award extends Redwire's role in Axiom Station's power architecture after the company was selected in September 2025 to provide solar-array wings for the station's first module. Financial terms of the new contract were not disclosed.

Axiom Space said the Redwire hardware will power the station and its systems. Redwire said its Roll-Out Solar Array, or ROSA, technology has maintained a 100% success rate across missions operating from low Earth orbit to geostationary orbit and beyond.

The first Axiom Station module is undergoing final assembly at Thales Alenia Space in Turin, Italy, before planned integration and testing in Houston and transfer to Kennedy Space Center. Axiom Space now plans to launch that module in 2028.

The second module is preparing to enter final assembly at Thales Alenia Space and is planned for launch less than a year after the first. It could remain independently in orbit until ready to dock with the first module. Together, the two spacecraft are intended to form an operational free-flying station capable of supporting four crew.

Redwire said it has delivered or is developing more than 65 solar-array wings across its programmes.
